Its sad that we have to announce the sudden passing of a father to Kenya’s most appreciated songstress Avril.
According to a report on TUKO Avril’s father died of a massive heart attack at his home on March 22nd at 2pm.
The songstress took to her instagram account to express her grief but did not reveal any details regarding the cause of his death since the family is currently asking for their privacy to be respected during this period of mourning.

Corporal punishment was burned by the government some time back but some teachers are returning it into existence. A month ago three male teachers from Kavenye Girls high school were caught on camera brutally beating the students, a move that prompted the Education Cabinet Secretary to visit the institution.
Well another case of Corporal punishment was reported in Eldoret after a 12 year old standard 7 boy was brutally canned by his teacher using a whip for writing a love letter to a standard 8 girl.
The traumatizing incident occurred at JoyMax Academy, a boarding school in huruma Estate in Eldoret town. The teacher left the 12 year old with deep bruises on his back, neck and Buttocks.

The ongoing business rivalry among taxi operators in the country went a notch higher after another Uber taxi was set ablaze reportedly on Tuesday night.

It is reported that the taxi was attacked by four men in Kawangware area, Nairobi, moments after the driver had picked a passenger from yaya centre

Police confirmed that the driver in the Toyota Passo taxi escaped the ordeal unhurt after noticing the assailants.

“The four were joined by the man who had hired the taxi as the driver jumped out and escaped on foot,” Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome was quoted by the Standard.

Milele FM presenter Nzula Makosi is without a doubt one of the most appreciated Media personalities in the media fraternity. The sweet voiced radio presenter is not only appreciated for her sweet voice in her show but for her stunning looks as well.

1. Place of birth
Nzula was born and raised in Kwale town in Kwale county. She grew up and studied in the area before moving out to further her studies

2. Education
She went to Tumaini Academy in Kwale town for her primary education. She then joined Waa Girls High School in Kwale. Here, she was made head girl in form one but transferred to Voi Secondary where she completed her secondary education.
She then joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Karen campus) in 2006 where she studied mass communication.
3. Radio career
Nzula attributes her first steps in the radio career to wife to Chirau Ali Mwakwere, Kenyan ambassador to Tanzania. She says that Mrs Mwakwere met her while she was looking for internship in 2007 while on a holiday.
She took her in to Radio Kaya in Kwale where she started as a reporter before being given a show thanks to her skill. Nzula grew at radio Kaya and was forced to do distance learning as she worked. She could later join Milele FM having seen her star born at Radio Kaya.
4. Training
The amiable presenter is not only trained by JKUAT as a journalist but also international media company Deutsche Welle (Germany). Apart from radio, she is very good at doing features and can make a good TV presenter. She says her passion lies in doing live changing features.

5. Worst moment on radio
Nzula says her worst moment on radio was in 2012 when she had just joined Milele FM. She says that she was so nervous that she said something nasty while she was on air. The buttons on the audio console were up and she had forgotten to turn them down.
6. Relationship status
Nzula is married and has two children; a four and half years old boy and a two and half years old girl. She was married in 2011 at the age of 22. She says she has never regretted getting married at such a young age because her family is the best she can ask for.

7. How she met her man
She reveals that she met him through a mutual friend. She potential in him and loved him. This was in 2009. They dated for two years before deciding to become husband and wife.
8. Managing family and her demanding job
She says that this is possible when one has an understanding partner. She says her husband is very understanding and this has always made it easy to manage her family and her job as a radio personality. She reveals that she tries as much as possible to have time for her kids and her husband, and this has helped them get knitted together for the last couple of years.
9. How she handles admirers and team ‘mafisi’
Nzula is a beautiful woman. She admits that despite making it public that she is someone’s wife, team mafisi always hit on her. But she says she always never minded them because being a public figure that is bound to happen. She says her husband understands what she does and has never raised an issue about it. She simply reminds the admirers that she is already taken, for good.
She says she understands some ladies also hit on her husband. She says that all it takes in a relationship is serious trust and being faithful to one another.
10. Dinner dates
Nzula loves going out for dinner dates with her hubby.
“We go to dinner dates. We ensure that the kids are sleeping, we have someone in the house. If there is a party somewhere and we are invited, we go,” she says.

Police officers in Nairobi on Thursday noon arrested a woman who residents believed was the wanted terror suspect Samantha Lewthwaite alias White Widow.
Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) officers responded after City dwellers blocked a car the woman and two men were using along Moi Avenue, after suspecting the woman was the infamous terrorist.
They held the suspects hostage for a while as they waited for the officers to arrive following an earlier alert warning that Al Shabaab militants were planning possible retaliatory attacks in Kenya.

The three were taken to Railways Police Station where they were interrogated for hours before being handed over to ATPU for further questioning.
Railways Station head Kirimi Ringera said the woman claimed she had flown into the country from United States to visit her Facebook friend in Mandera.
An officer from Directorate of Criminal Investigations confirmed the arrests saying they acted swiftly following a call from the public.
“We received calls from residents indicating that they suspected the woman was the White Widow. We could not take any chances,” he stated.
Samantha has been on international police radar from several years after being suspected of masterminding terror attacks in different countries including the 2013 Westgate siege that led to death of over 60 people.

Friday 25th March 2016 Moi University main campus students decided to carry on a demonstration after one them was found dead under mysterious circumstances. The students are complaining of insecurity in the neighbourhood after a student who stayed at house C returned to his room on Thursday night with severe injuries only to be discovered dead on Friday morning.

Police officers arrived at the scene to calm the violent students but they begun pelting the police with stones prompting them to use tear gas and gunshots. However another student was unlucky in the protest since he was hit by a stray bullet that leaving him dead.

Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga is now urging the police to strengthen her security, following the killing of her three German Shepherd dogs that she had been counting on for protection at her Nyahera home.

Ms Odinga lamented over the suspicious incident wondering whether it was intended to scare her over what she termed as her growing popularity in the area.
“I don’t know the intention but I fear for my life. This week one died, last week and the other week also. This trend is worrying me a lot and I cannot now spend my night in Nyahera.
“I don’t know whether the killing of the dogs, which have been my only source of security, has a connection to my popularity across the county,” the deputy governor said adding that her veterinary doctor confirmed the dogs were poisoned.
Kisumu North police boss Peter Omanwa, however, noted that Ms Odinga had not reported the incident to the police.
“Let her make a formal report before we can launch investigations. Right now, I’m not in a position to make further comments,” Mr Omanwa told the Star.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga’s sister asserted that she had not been assigned security officers at her home, but she was not bothered since she had the German Shepherds. Ms Odinga now says she cannot gamble with her security
